The
Greeting Ministry is a liturgical ministry
which creates a hospitable reception at
the start of our weekly Mass celebration.
The
ministry would require that the Greeters
commit to meeting their scheduled assignment
and to being their best welcoming selves!
Greeters
would need to arrive 20 minutes prior
to Mass to spend a few minutes in prayer,
and then proceed to the front door for
the Greeting Ministry. A simple, gracious
greeting along with assisting with the
front door is really all that is required
of our ministers. Occasionally a Greeter
may be approached with a question. If
the Greeter is unable to answer the question,
the Greeter should try to get as much
information as possible and explain that
their question will be forwarded to Sister
Anita for follow-up and an answer. Sister
Anita is almost always available after
the Masses and these questions can be
forwarded to her at this time.
The
Greeting Ministry will be set up with
an assigned schedule for each Mass. Each
Mass will have a head greeter who will
do the scheduling, distribute the schedules
to their ministers and assist with substitutions,
if needed. Ideally, the monthly schedule
will include all of the phone numbers
of the ministers assigned to a particular
Mass. The Greeters are encouraged to contact
one another for their own substitution
if they are unable to honor their assigned
schedule.
